Trine University
Trine University, originally named Tri-State College, was founded in 1884 and is a private institution with over 130 years of history. In 2008, the college was renamed Trine University. Its main campus is located in Angola, Indiana, in the heart of a region known as the “city of 100 lakes,” Steuben, known for its safety and excellent environment. This area is at the intersection of Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan, which is the origin of the name Tri-State College.

4 months of summer break without classes: From early May to late August, students can take breaks for almost 4 months without classes, and still maintain CPT status.

The campus is situated in the same building as the Ford Research and Development Center, in a well-secured area. It’s approximately a 15-minute ride from the airport to the classroom. This location is ideal for students residing in the Central and Eastern regions.
Phoenix Campus - Phoenix, AZ
Situated in downtown Phoenix, the area offers good security and convenient transportation. The campus is about a 7-minute drive from the airport, making it ideal for students living in west coast such as California.
Reston Campus - Reston, VA
The Reston area is a 25-minutes drive to downtown Washington, D.C., making this campus ideal for students living in the DMV and the east coast such as New York. The campus is a 10-minutes drive from IAD airport. Nearby, there are shopping centers, restaurants, and cafes, offering a safe and civilized experience.

CPT Policies
- Trine University allows Transfer F1 and Initial F1 students to utilize Day-1 CPT.
- CPT requires registration for a 0.5-credit course each semester at $287.5.
- CPT is valid for one year and can be renewed without any gap. Job or employer changes require notification to the school.
- Summer break is CPT-free unless requested; then only one CPT course is required.
- If major and job don’t align, the university may assign a better-fit major during the CPT application.
- Failure to meet onsite class attendance or maintain a GPA above 3.0 results in CPT suspension.
