International students studying in the U.S. hold F1 student visas, which come with various regulations and restrictions. One key requirement is maintaining good academic standing, including timely course registration, adherence to school rules, and good grades. Failure to do so can risk losing their F1 visa status, as the visa is fundamentally for educational purposes.
GPA (Grade Point Average) is a standard measure of academic performance. U.S. universities typically consider GPA a critical criterion for admission and continued enrollment. Therefore, international students must maintain a high GPA to pursue education or apply for scholarships. Additionally, a strong GPA is crucial for those seeking employment or further studies in the U.S., as it is an important factor for employers and graduate school admissions committees.
The Carnegie International Students Institute (CISI) is pleased to announce the launch of the Stay Good Status Scholarship, starting from March 8, 2023. This scholarship aims to recognize international students holding F-1 visas in the U.S. who have outstanding academic achievements. It provides financial support to these students when they face academic or professional obstacles, encouraging them to maintain their good student status in the US.
